Our client in the retail/SAAS industry sector is seeking a Controller for a 6-month contract engagement. Reporting to the VP, Finance, you will be responsible for the following:
* Set up stock-based compensation schedules
* Conduct research and set up schedules for multiple element revenue recognition and deferred revenue
* Undertake a change in functional currency from CDN$ to USD including system set-up
* Set up and prepare accounting memos for the adoption of the leasing standard under IFRS 16
* Review fair value on returns
* Assist with an IFRS transition project
To be considered for this contract engagement, you are a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 7+ years of progressive technical accounting experience as well solid IFRS knowledge.
You also have the following skills and experience as follows:
* Stock-based compensation and revenue recognition and leasing standards experience
* Multi-currency and foreign exchange experience
* IFRS conversion experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Drive to get things done and take on a project and complete
* Produce high quality work and results-oriented
* Can work independently and be accountable
