Business Analyst
On behalf of our client, a Canadian Mortgage Company, that is currently under a rapid growth mode, Procom is seeking a Business Analyst to join this incredibly talented group of people.
Business Analyst- Job Details:
The Business Analyst will have day-to-day duties and responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
- Business Intelligence: data gathering, analysis and research, identifying opportunities for process improvement and reporting.
- Process Improvement: requirement gathering, process mapping including flowchart business processes to define operational activities, procedures, and models and testing new technology and solutions; creating and/or prototyping new procedures, adding automation to enhance business processes, operations, and data flow; researching and reviewing processes that support business functions and system requirements.
- Project Management: planning, tracking and documenting changes, monitoring schedules and milestones and implementation of changes; helping company's special mandate and new project initiatives and developments.
- Financial Analysis: conducting complex financial analysis to determine present and future performance. Documenting all data and findings thoroughly, the Business Analyst presents findings to appropriate team members and Commercial Servicing Management.
- Business Advice: using results from financial analysis data, the Business Analyst communicates results and presents business recommendations to appropriate team members and management team. These recommendations may include cost reduction measures, revenue generation ideas, improved risk management strategies, and ways to streamline operations or increase stakeholder and client satisfaction.
- Work closely with the department management team to support and provide team and department training including those affected by the changes in new technology and improvements, and policy and procedures.
- Client & Customer Management (External), including managing reporting requirements from borrowers, lenders, brokers, insurers and vendors for information requests.
- Client & Customer Management (Internal), working as liaisons between multiple teams including Origination, Credit, Servicing, IT, MAG, Retail, and Finance staff for information requests and company's projects.
- Technical Support: providing consultative and technical support to the executive team and other strategic decision-making groups including Commercial Servicing Management.
- Application Vendor Support: Acting as liaison with application vendors to resolve bugs, request enhancements or communicate user feedback.
- Reports and Data Analysis: performing data analysis as requested; developing and presenting ad hoc reports in support of various business process initiatives both internally and externally.
Business Analyst-Mandatory Skills:
- Experience with eliciting, writing and validating stakeholder requirements
- Experience with business process mapping
- Comfortable working with project teams and experience with project as well as change management practices
- Proficient with SQL Querying, VBA, Visio, SharePoint, and MS Office Suite (proficient in web development languages i.e. Javascript, CSS, HTML considered an asset)
- University Degree in Business/MIS/Computer Science
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote mutually beneficial, respectful and professional relationships.
- Experience within the financial services industry/ institution and real estate knowledge are considered assets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving and organizational skills are essential.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail in all areas of work.
